GOG.com closing?

One of the best sites for purchasing older games, GOG.com, seems to be shutting down.  There is a lot of speculation on the web right now as to what is actually happening, but it would be a shame to see this service disappear.  Being able to purchase older games, supporting the developers who made them and curbing piracy were all benefits of GOG’s business model.

There is some speculation that they my re-emerge with a DRM based solution to better appease publishers.  Let’s hope that, if they do come back, it does not tread on the rights of consumers as well.
